The main activities of the project are:

1. Designing the project website and identity;
2. Designing the EU e-learning platform for chess for deaf people with sign language videos;
3. Research about the current situation of the access to sport (with particular reference to chess) for deaf people in partner countries and at EU level (including Policy level, Research field, Practice field);
4. Establishing the skills, curriculum and assessment instrument for each performance level of the non-formal training in chess, for deaf people (initiation, basic, intermediate and advanced);
5. Designing the training materials for each performance level of the non-formal training in chess, for deaf people (initiation, basic, intermediate and advanced) using the sign language;
6. Providing the interactive online chess courses for deaf people using the sign language;
7. Designing the self-assessment instruments of chess skills of deaf people using the sign language;
8. Establishing the European chess network for deaf people;
9. Organizing transnational project meetings in partner countries;
10. Multiplier events: National seminars on project outputs for dissemination purposes in partner countries;

The approach consists of the following stages:

-Performing an analyze of the real situation regarding the access to sport (with particular reference to chess) for deaf people, in partner countries and at EU level;
-Ensuring a high quality of project results by providing training for staff, during transnational meetings;
-Offering an e-learning interactive non-formal course adapted to deaf people using the sign language needs;
-Creating a synergy between hearing and deaf chess associations, which will enhance the integration of deaf people into society, increasing self-confidence and emancipation.

The main expected outcomes are:

-A report about the current situation of the access to sport (with particular reference to Chess) for deaf people in partner countries and at EU level (including Policy level, Research field, Practice field);
-An e-learning platform for Chess for deaf people, with sign language videos;
-An interactive online Chess course for deaf people, using the sign language, for each performance level (initiation, basic, intermediate and advanced);
-Self-assessment instruments of Chess skills of deaf people using the sign language;
-An European chess network for deaf people .
